| This is a very well used cable tensiometer which is: "The PACIFIC SCIENTIFIC® Cable Tensiometer is a simple yet precise instrument designed in accurate rigging of airborne control cables." I quote the description, because I haven't a clue. It is old and used, the wood box smelling faintly of engine oil. It originally had a mica cover over the dial which was dark brown and crumbled at my touch. It has a patent number which dates it to the early 1940s. The wooden box has a sliding cover and there is a folded instruction sheet inside. |
