Salt Glaze Spongeware Pitcher A heavy salt glaze pottery water or milk pitcher, decorated with incised shell design around the upper rim. Blue and white spongeware pattern over a dark brown base. Manufacturing flaws are a glazed over bubble at lower foot, and a partially glazed crack at the spout, as shown. These were cheaply made utility vessels at the time (ca 1840s-1890s) and were prone to manufacturing flaws.
This one is considered in good but not excellent condition. 9" tall and 6" from spout to handle

Grafton Melville Lemon Server with Sugar and Creamer A delicately decorated bone china lemon server plate with handless sugar bowl and cream pitcher. Made by Grafton ca. 1935. It has a gray scroll pattern called Melville,with pink and white dogwood blossoms and green leaves. The plate is for serving tea slices and is 6" in diameter. The cream pitcher is 3.5" tall and the sugar bowl is 3" in diameter. A lovely set for your tea party!
