Hand Hammered Vanity Jar with a Rose A mystery metal that is hand hammered and looks and feels like silverplate over copper, but has not tarnished.It may be coated. A very nice little trinket jar or vanity jar with a charming single full blown rose hammered into the lid. Art nouveau, ca late 19th early 20thc. In excellent condition.

Cast Iron & Brass Fire Starter Pot A 3 piece fire starter cast iron pot with brass lid and "dipper". This is what I think it is, but it could have been used for almost anything else. It is decorative enough with the brass lid and finial on the "dipper" that it would have been welcome by the rustic fireplace. A unique piece.

Armor Bronze Bookends Child Reading Art Nouveau bookends made by Armor Bronze Co. of Tauton,Massachussetts. Armor Bronze was begun in 1915 and continued until about 1962. This pair of a child reading a book was made about the 1920s, from a bronze casting by the Italian artist S. Morani, who was working in the US at the time. They are signed by the artist. The bookends are in excellent condition. Contrary to popular belief they did not make bronze bookends but copper and applied the richly colored patinas for which they are famous. They are still quite heavy. Packed weight will be about 9 lbs. 6.5" tall 5.5" deep and 4" wide. Beautifully molded, they also have the original retail shop tag, showing they were sold in Oakland,CA by Marcoms, the House of Beautiful Things.

#50 Enterprise Sad Iron A #50 Enterprise sad iron from the 19th century. It is one of the irons that was kept heated on the stove and the handle was clamped on when needed. See my listing for the Enterprise Iron with detachable handle. With this invention, the laundress would lose no time waiting for the iron to heat up, nor would the handle become too hot to use. This was real cutting edge! This sad iron weighs 5 lbs before packing and is 6.5" long and 1.75" high. In excellent useable condition.
