Armor Bronze Bookends Child Reading Art Nouveau bookends made by Armor Bronze Co. of Tauton,Massachussetts. Armor Bronze was begun in 1915 and continued until about 1962. This pair of a child reading a book was made about the 1920s, from a bronze casting by the Italian artist S. Morani, who was working in the US at the time. They are signed by the artist. The bookends are in excellent condition. Contrary to popular belief they did not make bronze bookends but copper and applied the richly colored patinas for which they are famous. They are still quite heavy. Packed weight will be about 9 lbs. 6.5" tall 5.5" deep and 4" wide. Beautifully molded, they also have the original retail shop tag, showing they were sold in Oakland,CA by Marcoms, the House of Beautiful Things.

Hand Hammered Vanity Jar with a Rose A mystery metal that is hand hammered and looks and feels like silverplate over copper, but has not tarnished.It may be coated. Manning Bowman Copper Coffee Urn A Manning Bowman coffee or tea urn with burner. Marked and Dated Nov 8,1904. A 12 inch copper urn with stand, lid and burner mechanism. A screw in cap on the fuel resevoir is missing. There is a dent near one of the wood handles which are either ebony or ebonized wood. The spigot turns freely. In fairly good condition with a years old patina.

Pilgrim Ware Copper Tea Kettle A wonderful old Pilgrim Ware copper tea kettle made in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. It has an oval plaque on the bottom stating its origin. There are two repairs and a couple of dings. Really a great antique kettle. Holds water and is useable. 10" wide with spout and &" tall. Wood handle and finial and wire bail.

Gas Heater and Rest for Iron A gas fired heater for a curling iron or a sad iron. Just connect to a gas hose and fire up the burner to heat whichever iron this is meant for. In a nickel plated finish. It is an odd looking item, but I am sure very useful in its day.

#50 Enterprise Sad Iron A #50 Enterprise sad iron from the 19th century. It is one of the irons that was kept heated on the stove and the handle was clamped on when needed. See my listing for the Enterprise Iron with detachable handle. With this invention, the laundress would lose no time waiting for the iron to heat up, nor would the handle become too hot to use. This was real cutting edge! This sad iron weighs 5 lbs before packing and is 6.5" long and 1.75" high. In excellent useable condition.
